Taking The Worry About Going to the Dentist

Here at Duncan Dental in Tauranga, we’re keenly aware that a visit to the dentist is not high on people’s favourite things to do list. While everyone wants the finished product – clean, healthy, strong teeth and gums - getting to that place can sometimes involve a bit of discomfort. If you have ever avoided a check-up, hygienist visit, or important scheduled work, read on to see what we do to keep patients at ease.

First Impressions Count

You will experience our friendly and welcoming team from the moment you call us for an appointment. Duncan Dental’s front office reception staff is also highly tuned in and here to keep you comfortable and informed. If you are super nervous, let us know, and we can have a dental assistant chat you through your appointment. The more you talk to our staff, the better you will feel, trust us!

Total Transparency

It’s fair to say a primary concern when visiting the dentist isn’t whether it will be painful for your mouth but whether it will hurt your hip pocket! Look at the treatment page on our website to see the individual treatments and helpful info about the treatment plan, including how many visits you might need and a guide to the price range you can expect. Once you have visited one of our two Tauranga Duncan Dental locations and we have advised you on your treatment options, you will receive a detailed breakdown of the expected cost.

Much like taking your car to the mechanic, sometimes, when we “look under the hood”, we see that the work required will cost outside of our given range, but we will always discuss this in detail with you, so there are no nasty surprises!

In The Chair

Look, we get it. Laying almost fully reclined with a bright light above you, metal implements nearby, and your mouth open but unable to talk properly can be a vulnerable position. Our dentists are not only experienced and knowledgeable, but they’re also here to make sure you always understand what is going on and have opportunities to rest, talk, or sit up. We might like to lighten the mood with humour or chat, but don’t worry whether we can understand your replies; we do this every day.

Get in touch with us here at Duncan Dental in Tauranga, and let’s see if we can change your perception of a visit to the dentist.
